Abnormally Dry Conditions Observed in Some Areas Across Southeast

The most recent release of the U.S. Drought Monitor shows abnormally dry conditions in Georgia and Alabama and some moderate and severe drought conditions in Florida.

Dry Conditions

The driest conditions in Georgia remain concentrated to the southwest part of the state, in Crisp, Wilcox, Ben Hill, Turner, Irwin, Tift, Worth, Lee and parts of Dougherty, Colquitt, Cook and Berrien counties.

Other abnormally dry conditions are observed in North Georgia in Paulding, Cobb, Bartow, Cherokee, Chattooga, Union, Towns and Rabun counties.

Most of North Alabama is abnormally dry, including, Cherokee, Dekalb, Madison, Limestone, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Colbert, Franklin, Marion, Winston, Walker, Fayette and Lamar counties.

Florida’s driest conditions remain isolated to the western part of the state. Severe conditions are observed in Levy, Citrus and Hernando counties. Moderate conditions are seen in Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, De Soto and Hardee counties.
