Gas and diesel prices are on the rise across the Southeast, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Gas costs averaged $3.59 per gallon along the east coast on Nov. 7, which is a 6-cents increase from the previous week and 11 cents more than two weeks ago. The expense is also 24 cents more compared to a year ago.
Gas costs in the U.S. averaged $3.79, while prices in the Gulf Coast averaged $3.18 per gallon.
Diesel costs averaged $5.47 per gallon along the east coast on Nov. 7, which is a 7-cents increase from the previous week and 10 cents more than two weeks ago. The expense is also $1.76 more compared to a year ago.
Diesel costs averaged $5.33 per gallon in the U.S., while prices in the Gulf Coast averaged $4.93 per gallon.
Diesel expenses are important input costs for farmers to manage since tractors and other machinery are mostly diesel operated.
