Excitement for the 2023 Florida Grower Citrus Show is rising for many, including Doug Bournique, executive director of the Indian River Citrus League.

“The show has been a cornerstone for the Indian River region since its inception back in the 1940s,” says Bournique. It was originally called the Indian River Citrus Seminar. The event has been presented as the Florida Grower Citrus Show for many years now in partnership with the Indian River Citrus League, University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (USDA/ARS) U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory.

“This year we are moving the show to be at the USDA/ARS U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory along with the UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center,” says Bournique. “Exhibitors will have their trucks in between the two buildings. Growers will be able to hear a lecture at one building, then have a break and be able to walk through the show.”

He is looking forward to the new location of the Florida Grower Citrus Show. “We moved to be near the university labs and research center where growers can easily see what is going on with the production of the test plots. Growers will be able to hear the latest on all the technology and research going on at these two centers,” says Bournique.

“Growers will hear the latest about BMPs, disaster relief, trunk injection and more,” adds Bournique. “To help growers and packers plan for their future, we are going to have the latest and greatest information we can possibly present to them.”

Registration is complimentary for commercial growers, farm owners and managers, professional crop advisers, association executives and board members, and the government, legislative, and agricultural research communities.

If you would like to exhibit at the event, please fill out a registration form. Complete details about the seminar sessions will be available soon.
