Tri-State Fruit and Vegetable Conference Scheduled for Jan. 28

The Tri-State Fruit and Vegetable Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the Jackson County Extension Peanut Hall Auditorium in Marianna, Florida. That means fruit and vegetable producers from the Florida Panhandle, South Alabama and South Georgia are invited to attend.

The meeting will begin with registration at 7:15 a.m. (CST), with the conference slated to begin at 8 a.m.

Specialists from the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Georgia Cooperative Extension and Alabama Cooperative Extension will provide the region’s farmers new information on ongoing research.

Topics that will be highlighted included polymer-coated paper mulch; South Georgia vegetable variety trials; whitefly control in cucurbits; and innovative strategies for sustainable anthracnose management in watermelon and cucumber.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit with those trade show vendors in attendance.
