Alabama fruit and vegetable growers can go ahead and mark their calendars for next year’s Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (AFVGA) Conference and Trade Show. It will once again be held in February in Gulf Shores, Alabama, says Blake Thaxton, executive director of the AFVGA.
“It is an ideal time, and I think we’re gaining steam with some of our growers across the state. I think we probably have, not necessarily increased attendance, but I think we have an increased acreage represented here this year than we have had in years past,” said Thaxton, during this year’s conference a couple of weeks ago.
“You never get all of them. There’s always somebody doing something. Specialty crops are such a wide range of items that you can’t get them all. You have hydroponic lettuce growers who are wide open. We just picked the time we thought was best. When we were in November, especially in South Alabama in our current location for the conference, there were a lot of growers still running wide open.”
Next year’s conference and trade show will be held on Feb. 4-6, 2026, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The AFVGA is an affiliate partner of the Alabama Farmers Federation. Click here to learn more about the Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
