Alabama farmers and Christmas tree enthusiasts can learn more about Christmas tree production during a grower workshop scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. EDT.
Alabama Cooperative Extension is coordinating with the Southern Christmas Tree Association to host the workshop which will be held at the Wadsworth Christmas Tree Farm at 3071 Dexter Road, Wetumpka, Alabama, 36092.
Attendees will learn about various facets of Christmas tree production. Experienced farmers will demonstrate planting, fertilizing, pruning, weed control and other skills that are vital to being a successful Christmas tree farm.
The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., though gates will open at 9 a.m. All times are EDT.
The registration cost is $45 per member and $55 for non-members. The fee for children 14 years or younger is $20.
Fees will increase by $10 per adult for registrations made after April 17. Registration will close on April 19. Attendance will be capped at 65 adults.
Lunch will be provided.
