Alabama specialty crop farmers should be mindful that the early-bird registration for next year’s Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Conference and Trade Show ends Dec. 31.
The annual conference and trade show is scheduled for Feb. 5-7, 2025, at the Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Registration includes all general meal functions, breakouts and sessions. The early-bird cost is $175, and the regular registration, which is slated to end Jan. 19, is $225.
Blake Thaxton, executive director of the Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (AFVGA), talked about next year’s event.
“We’re expecting more growth for our conference this year. We’ve reserved more tradeshow space, so we’re hoping to grow the tradeshow even more,” Thaxton said. “Our board is excited about the potential of growing the tradeshow. We’ve really feel like we’ve established the timeframe down there and the location in Gulf Shores. The people are excited to go to Gulf Shores in February every year and hear from great speakers about research that’s going on across the state and across the Southeast and network with businesses and services that can help their farms.”
