The agenda is finalized for next month’s Citrus and Specialty Crop Expo. The two-day event, scheduled for Aug. 16-17 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida, will feature seminar topics tailoring to citrus and specialty crop producers.

Topics like Best Management Practices, thrips management, plant growth regulators and optimizing irrigation practices will be featured during sessions specific to citrus and to specialty crops.

Josh McGill, show director for AgNet Media, expressed excitement about the newly released agenda.

“We’re really looking forward to this year. We just got the seminar agenda finalized. We’re excited about that. The seminar committee worked hard this year to put together something that would be good for growers, not just in the state of Florida, but really across the Southeast; both citrus as well as vegetable and specialty crops,” McGill said. “We’re real excited about this year’s lineup. We also have a great general session, opening morning, so we’re excited about that.

“We’re excited that we’re able to announce that (Florida) Commissioner Wilton Simpson will be speaking as our keynote address during the Wednesday morning general session. This will be his first year coming down to the Citrus Expo and getting to see all of those growers and talk to them about his future and ideas for Florida agriculture.”
