Fruit and vegetable production will be under the spotlight during this year’s Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo, scheduled for Aug. 20-21 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida.

There are no shortage of topics impacting growers across the Southeast, including Florida, South Georgia and South Alabama. They’ll be discussed during a panel discussion featuring leaders from prominent organizations in the region.

Morgan Assaf, show organizer for AgNet Media, owner and operator of the Expo, talked about the panel discussion.

“We have a power panel this year. We’re inviting specialty crop growers of all different crops and all different areas. We have a power panel that’s going to include the leaders from the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and Florida Citrus Mutual,” Assaf said. “They’re going to be talking about different topics such as tariffs, trade, labor, farm bill, food safety and much more. You can get more information on that as the seminar session comes out on citrusexpo.net.”

The panel will include Mike Joyner, president of the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association; Chris Butts, executive director of the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association; and Matt Joyner, CEO Florida Citrus Mutual.
