The U.S. House Agriculture Committee will host a Farm Bill listening session in Newberry, Florida, on Monday, April 24.

Glenn “GT” Thompson, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, along with U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack and Rep. Darren Soto, will host the session. The U.S. Ag Committee is in the process of reauthorizing the Farm Bill.

The listening session will take place at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension Alachua County Office at 22712 W. Newberry Road in Newberry, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Attendees should plan to arrive by 1:30 p.m.

The event will bring together various associations, agribusiness owners, producers, growers and ranchers to solicit public feedback on policies they would prefer to see included in the upcoming Farm Bill.

The Farm Bill is a piece of legislation that is renewed every five years and will be vital to producers in all areas of agriculture. President Trump signed the current Farm Bill into law in September 2018.
