The annual Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference is just days away in Savannah, Georgia. While regular registration ends Tuesday, Jan. 7, on-site registration will still be available from Jan. 9-11.

The yearly conference caters to fruit and vegetable production in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas. The production seminars, scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, will highlight various commodities like blueberry, blackberry, muscadine, peach, raspberry, vegetables, strawberry, Vidalia onion and watermelon.

Chris Butts, executive director of the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA), discussed this year’s event and why it will provide timely information for growers entering the spring season.

“The education program is fantastic. I think it just speaks to how critical a time we’re in. Some of these topics have the potential to be really impactful to people this year,” Butts said. “More than ever, it’s important to come and hear that news. The education program reflects that. The tradeshow is sold out. We’re just ready to put on a great event and are ready to get together.”

The cost for on-site registration for the full conference is $275, which includes access to all educational sessions and trade show admission. On-site registrants do not receive lunch tickets, though concessions will be available for purchase on the trade show floor.
