The Highlands County Citrus Growers Association (HCCGA) is planning for its annual Citrus Sporting Clays Fun Shoot, scheduled for Dec. 9 at the OK Corral Gun Club. The facility is a world-class shooting destination just east of Okeechobee, Florida.
“This will be our 26th annual event and our first year at the OK Corral Gun Club. The fun shoot always provides a unique opportunity for a great group of folks from our agricultural community to gather and fellowship, knock a bunch of clay targets out of the sky and enjoy some awesome food,” says HCCGA executive director Ray Royce. “And some of those attendees will win some tremendous raffle prizes, so life doesn’t get much better than that!”
Attendees will also be treated to a prime rib and seafood lunch during the event. The facility has 24 cabins and several multi-bedroom houses available for rent for those interested in making it an overnight stay. Recently, the club added several pickleball courts. The club has two, 15-station sporting clay courses and several other shooting options, including those for rifles and pistols. It also has a fully stocked pro shop.
Royce says arrangements are being made now to finalize details. He expects registration to be open soon. In the meantime, save the date for Dec. 9.
