The Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA) needs your help! It sent out this recent release calling on growers:
At the recent Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Board of Directors meeting, the USDA Risk Management Agency (RMA) discussed interest in providing a crop insurance program for several crops, including tomato, sweet corn, bell pepper, specialty pepper, cucumber, squash and satsuma. In order for RMA to determine if programs are viable to be developed they need to know the potential crop acreage that might be covered. The GFVGA Board felt it was important to support RMA in studying the potential of such programs because a viable and effective crop insurance program could be of great benefit to our industry. We are conducting a survey of Georgia fruit and vegetable growers as to the number of acres of these crops you are growing. Whether you think you might be interested in considering crop insurance or not, we would ask that you complete the survey.
We are not sharing any of the information you provide. No one will use your information for sales or solicitation purposes. No individual farm information will be used, we will only aggregate the total number of acres
in production for your county. It should take less than five minutes to take the survey. CLICK BELOW to complete. Survey must be completed before January 3, 2019.
