Florida tomato growers can mark their calendars for Thursday, Sept. 4. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and the Florida Tomato Committee will present this year’s Florida Tomato Conference at the Clewiston John Boy Auditorium in Clewiston, Florida.
The program will start at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. The Florida Tomato Institute will present industry and research updates from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by new product presentations from select sponsors, lasting from noon to 1 p.m.
After a ribeye steak lunch, provided by the sponsors and catered by the Hendry County Cattlemen’s Association, the food safety workshop/T-Gap renewal will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration is free for employees of Florida tomato growers and packers, sponsors, presenters and university personnel. The cost is $50 for other attendees. Participants may register for one or both sessions. Registration information will be released soon.
