University of Georgia (UGA) Cooperative Extension reminds specialty crop producers that this year’s Georgia Ag Forecast meeting will be held on Friday, Jan. 28 at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.
The meeting will be held just one day this year and will include the latest economic projections for the U.S. and state agriculture to inform farmers and agribusinesses.
UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) economists will provide outlooks of agricultural markets for the upcoming season, and this includes horticulture updates from Ben Campbell, associate professor, and Greg Fonsah, professor, in the department of agricultural and applied economics.

There will be registration and a light breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 28. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and include remarks from Mike Toews, assistant dean on the UGA Tifton Campus; Nick Place, dean of the UGA CAES; and an economic update from Jeff Dorfman, State of Georgia fiscal economist and professor in the department of agricultural and applied economics.
There will be breakout sessions for commodity groups. The meeting will adjourn at 11:30 a.m.
