Georgia Ag Forecast Scheduled for Jan. 23

Georgia farmers and agricultural industry leaders should mark their calendars for Friday, Jan. 23. That is when the Georgia Ag Forecast is scheduled to take place at the University of Georgia (UGA) Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.

UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences economists use the event every year to provide an outlook of agricultural markets for the upcoming year with keynote speakers focusing on important and trendy topics.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. that morning, with the program scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Online registration costs $10, while in-person registration costs $25.

Ag Forecast Agenda

8 a.m.: Registration opens and coffee conversations
9 a.m.: Welcome and opening remarks from UGA’s CAES Dean and Director, Nick Place
9:15 a.m.: Moderated Panel
10:15 a.m.: Farmer of the Year Announcement
10:30 a.m.: Break
10:45 a.m.: Georgia Ag Economy Outlook, Ford Ramsey
11:15 a.m.: Commodity Overview, Amanda Smith
12 p.m.: Lunch lines open
12:20 p.m.: Closing remarks, Commissioner Tyler Harper
1 p.m.: Event concludes
