The annual Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference will have a different look next year that’s sure to appeal to attendees from Georgia, Florida, Alabama and the Carolinas.
Renovations have been completed at the Savannah Convention Center, the site of next year’s event, scheduled for Jan. 8-10.
Chris Butts, executive director of the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA), discussed what attendees can expect when attending next year’s show, along with another new addition.
“They finally finished construction at the convention center, and we’re almost doubling the size of the tradeshow floor. We’re bringing the meals back downstairs so that everybody can be together in one space all the time there on the show floor,” Butts said. “We’ve also created a new space we’re calling Innovation Row. We’ve partnered with the University of Georgia and Grand Farm. This space, which is outside the show floor, is going to feature new and emerging companies with precision ag technologies. We’re calling that Innovation Row, and that aligns with the mission of Grand Farm.
“We’re going to try to bring a part of Grand Farm and Innovation Row to the show and share the latest technologies with the growers to help them be more efficient and hopefully help them do a little bit more with fewer inputs.”
