University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) reminds peach producers about the upcoming Stone Fruit Field Day, scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Plant Science Research and Education Unit in Citra, Florida.
Current and interested peach growers, home gardeners, farm advisors and all those interested in stone fruit are invited to attend.
The highlight of the Stone Fruit Field Day will be information on new peach cultivars released by the UF/IFAS stone fruit breeding program in the past year. These include the UFSol and UFRuby.
Attendees will also learn about various other topics that producers encounter every year. These include production issues such as disease and pest management and training and pruning trees.
Continuing education credits are available for application to pesticide licenses in select categories.
Stone Fruit Field Day presenters include UF/IFAS researchers and a guest speaker from Clemson University who will discuss nutrient management. A full agenda and list of presenters can be found here.
The event is free and includes lunch. The deadline to RSVP is today and registration is available now.
