Growers and industry leaders are invited to come here about the latest research and information from UGA specialists to help agriculture remain the state’s No. 1 industry.

Ben Campbell, associate professor and Extension coordinator for UGA CAES, talked about what attendees can expect from this year’s event, which includes a tweak to the format.

“This year’s going to be a change from what we’ve done in the past. This year it’s going to be more panel discussions. They’re going to do panel discussions with industry leaders. The Commissioner of Ag is going to be there. The (CAES) dean will be there,” Campbell said.

“That’s the big thing that’s changing this year. The importance of it is (1) networking but (2), get an idea about how Georgia’s ag industry is and what is the forecast for the various commodities in the state.”

This year’s breakout sessions will highlight row crops, like cotton and peanuts; hospitality, fruits, vegetables, livestock, nursery, greenhouse and forestry.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. with a moderated session beginning at 9 a.m.
