Web AdminGeorgia, Pests

Deer can be a destructive pest across all growers of the agricultural industry in Georgia. The Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Department of Agriculture and University of Georgia Cooperative Extension want to know how destructive.

The three organizations are collaborating on a deer impact survey to help determine the financial losses due to deer in Georgia over the past five years. Deer have impacted specialty crop and row crop growers across Georgia and are detrimental to the state’s food and fiber production.

The survey intends to determine losses and accurately estimate the severity of deer damage to Georgia’s No. 1 industry – agriculture.

For growers with more than one county that has been impacted by deer damage, once the form is completed, there is an option to submit for another county.

The deadline for survey submissions is Nov. 10.
