According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, abnormally dry conditions continue to persist in certain areas across the Southeast.
In Florida, abnormally dry conditions are detected in the northeast part of the state, along the Atlantic coast. These range from Nassau County to Volusia County.
Dry conditions are also being experienced in Southeast Georgia, along the Atlantic coast in Richmond County, southward to Wayne County and Long County. Abnormally dry conditions are also in Charlton County and Camden County.
There is sufficient moisture in Alabama.
In South Carolina, there is abnormally dry conditions and moderate dry conditions in the eastern part of the state, including Charleston County, Georgetown County and Horry County and ranging westward as far Cherokee County, Union County and part of Spartanburg County. Parts of York County, Chester County, Lancaster County, Chesterfield County, Marlboro County, Dillon County, Florence County, Williamsburg County, Clarendon County and Sumter County are moderately dry.
Multiple areas in North Carolina are either abnormally dry or moderately dry. The northeast part of the state is in a moderate drought, as far south as Pamlico County, stretching northward to Currituck County. Other moderately dry counties include Pender, Duplin, Sampson, Bladen, Robeson, Hoke, Scotland, Union, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, Iredell and Rowan.
