The University of Georgia will be hosting a Spring Farm Stress Summit on Monday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mercer University-Macon Campus.
The summit welcomes those interested to attend the Summit and learn from others about how to combat farm stress within Georgia’s rural communities.
The keynote speaker will be Marshal Sewell, a strategic account and partnerships manager with Bayer Crop Science and founder of ‘Mind Your Melon.’
It will also feature speakers like Kevin Tanner, Georgia Department of Behavorial Health and Development Disabilities Commissioner; Anna Scheyett, professor at the University of Georgia (UGA) School of Social Work; Stephanie Basey, Ph. D student in the Rural Health Sciences Program at the Mercer University School of Medicine; Jennifer Dunn, rural health agent in the UGA Extension Southwest District; Tyler Harper, Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner; Christina Proctor, health promotion and behavior clinical assistant professor in the UGA College of Public Health.
The event is free and is designed for Ag producers, agribusiness owners/operators, medical providers, counselors, church leaders, Extension agents and specialists, Georgia Farm Bureau members and staff, policy makers, lenders, local elected officials, county/city municipal staff, pharmacists and school system personnel.
There are 2.5 CEU general contact hours available for attendees.
